Lucy Lord Howes left a series of journals that described her exciting and sometimes tragic life at sea that includes pirates, murder and childbirth. Her great-granddaughter, Gerry Watters, transcribed Lucy’s journals. This wonderful tale also recounts her family’s everyday life after the travails of ocean journeys. It spans the years 1862-1909.
